Maker of the Day: Sandy Bywater

Sandy makes a range of ceramics for use in the home from stylish porcelain lamps, bronze bowls and a variety of vases. They are decorated using motifs found on her travels in China and the south east Asia.
Her lamps are slip-cast in porcelain and high fired in an electric kiln. Each piece is individually decorated using a number of techniques; carving, piercing, and water resist decoration onto the dried porcelain before it goes into the kiln.
The lights are then fitted internally with bulb fixtures and have a metre and half cable that has a built in switch on the flex making it easy to turn on and off.
These beautifully designed lamps would make the perfect gift for any home this Christmas.
